Hands down, the best food on the Gold Coast. Every dish was beautifully executed, with balanced flavours, top quality ingredients, and that wow factor you hope for at a high end restaurant. The perfect date night spot for an exceptional dining experience, look no further than The North Room. This multi-hatted restaurant truly impresses. The service was attentive yet unobtrusive, and the knowledgeable waitstaff added to the overall experience with their thorough understanding of the dishes. The menu is perfectly curated for a romantic date night, featuring fresh, seasonal produce that elevates every dish. Every bite was a delight—from the perfectly cooked seafood . The wine pairings were spot on and even accommodating to our preferences, enhancing each dish beautifully. Starting the evening with the spring rhubarb vermouth was a masterstroke—it was absolutely perfect and set the mood for what followed. I would highly recommend The North Room to anyone looking for fine dining at its best. It’s a gem that I’ll definitely be returning to!
I think everything I wanted to say has already been said by other reviewers. I read most of the reviews before booking for my birthday, and I had such a great experience. I loved every single dish, and the dessert—oh my gosh! Honestly, I usually only enjoy chocolate desserts, but now I can say the strawberry beetroot dessert is the most delicious non-chocolate dessert I’ve ever had.

We had driven an hour plus from Brisbane just for Chef Tim’s exquisite lunch. Ms. Shannon was on point in her table service and Mathias was a joy too to talk to. Kudos & Bon Apetit! This place serves food that one does not fully comprehend due to the comprehensive ingredient mix and complex flavour profiles, but boy, does it delight course after course. Set out as sharing dishes, prepare to be wowed. Highly recommend the crab, pork jowl, fish carpaccio.
Incredible. We went for lunch and were not disappointed. One of the best dining experiences on the Gold Coast. Fantastic wine list as well. Highly recommend.
Perfect food! The staff is amazing — so lovely and attentive. They took the time to explain each dish in detail, making the whole experience even more special. They were also incredibly flexible, even changing our reservation time without any problem. I absolutely loved the pork dish so much that I asked for it again, and they happily served it to me a second time! Highly recommended — a small but extremely cozy place with delicious food and outstanding service.
Really, really, really impressed with this place. Up there with some of the best food I have ever had, the menu is designed so perfectly and all of the dishes were a 10/10. Their signature dishes, Mud Crab Crumpet and Strawberry Sorbet Dessert did not disappoint. This place is so good it seems weird that it’s got the vibe of a hidden gem. Let’s actually talk about the vibe, the service is spectacular, they do not miss a beat and the energy inside that little room is so warm, like being in someone’s living room. Phenomenal. Special shout out to the owner Shannon, she made our time there so much better and the story of how her and her partner started their restaurant is just great! Love love love
We had an incredible dinner here, everything was perfect. I love how intimate it is and how much love and care is put into every aspect. Service is fabulous and the food was interesting, complex and delicious. My favorite dish was the wallaby, the beetroot and strawberry dessert was a very close second. Will definitely be returning to try more seasonal dishes!
